LEGAL NOTICE
Requests for Bids to Acquire Real Estate Owned by Andalusia Township Andalusia Township, a unit of local government in Rock Island County, Illinois (the “Township ) owns, but is seeking bids for the sale of, its interest in real estate commonly known as 8518 108th Street West, Andalusia, Illinois 61232, Property Identification Number: 15-27-300-016 (the “Property”).
The Illinois Township Code authorizes this transaction, as the Township received permission to sell the Township’s interest in the Property at a Town Meeting of the Township Electors. That Code further states the Township Board MAY accept the high bid or any other bid determined to be in the best interests of the Township; however, the Township fully reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Also, the Property was recently appraised at $65,000.00, and if the Board desires to award a bid, that bid must be at least 80% of that appraised value consistent with 60 ILCS 1/30-50 of the Township Code.
Any interested bidder shall consider and adhere to the following:
1) The Township owns an undivided one-half interest in the Property as a tenant in common with Illinois-American Water Company. Any bid will be to purchase the Township’s one-half interest. 2) Any party who is interested in acquiring the Property shall submit a sealed bid that must be postmarked on or before 5:00pm on November 1, 2026, via U.S. Mail to PO Box 222, Andalusia, Illinois 61232. The sealed bid must be received by that time and date to be considered. All bids shall be labeled on the outside as “Bid for Andalusia Township Real Property.” Bids shall NOT be submitted by email and any bids submitted by email will NOT be accepted. Any questions shall be directed to the Township Supervisor, Jay Bohnsack at 309-738-0811.
3) All bids will be opened at the regular Township Board meeting at the Andalusia Township Office located at 8518 108th Street West, Andalusia, Illinois 61232, on November 9, 2026, at 6:01 p.m. There is no guarantee a bid will be accepted at that time or in the future.
4) All bids shall include the following: (a) the offer price and all proposed terms of acquisition; (b) a description of the planned use and how it is consistent with relevant zoning ordinances; and (c) the contact information for the bidder.
5) By submitting a bid, a bidder acknowledges a final purchase agreement and other documents must be negotiated and approved by the Township Board to finalize any sale, and the failure to do so will void any bid awarded.
6) Bidders also acknowledge the Township may reject any and all bids.
7) The Township reserves the right to request alternative bids/proposals or to negotiate more specific terms of the final purchase agreement with a party tentatively awarded a bid to the extent permitted by Illinois law.
8) The Bidder acknowledges any sale of the Property will be in its current “AS IS” condition, as the Township makes no warranties or representations of the Property’s current condition or any property tax liabilities. A water tower and fencing are located on site, which are separately owned and operated by Illinois-American Water Company.
NOTE: THE TOWNSHIP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY AND ALL BIDS.
